I received a forwarded email from friend with subject 'Help Needed For Rayner Manjantim'. After I read it and then I forwarded to some friends and some of them responded and asking bout the account number. I had called Linda, the person who send the email and she is friend of Lily Benjamin, Rayner's wife. Linda gave me Lily's contact number (016 8330043) and her Maybank account is 110144084840. If you want to know more about Rayner's condition, just call his wife. We might not know him so well but we can contribute anything or even a prayer for him everyday. Linda might right that "Hari ini Hari Rayner, esok mungkin Hari Kita kan?" Thanks for your sincere help out there.

HELP NEEDED FOR RAYNER MAJANTIM
(based on text message from Jaswinder Kaur, New Straits Time journalist)
Rayner Majantim is a photographer working for BERNAMA based in Tawau. He is from Penampang , and took up the job as a photographer more than a year ago. His wife and 4 kids been living in Penampang all this while. About 2 weeks ago, he had very high fever in Tawau and could not afford to do anything.
He decided to fly home to Penampang. Not long after he reached home, he collapsed. Warded at QEH but discharged after 2 days. He was not even checked by QEH. His wife brought him to Rafflesia, and an MRI found 3 blood clots in his brain. So he was again warded at QEH, but according to friends and family he was again, not checked (I hope this is not true). Then last Sat he was moved to SMC. It is expensive to be there, you know how it is.
The Sabah Journalists Association and KK Journalists Assoc donated enough to pay the RM3,000 deposit to move him in. When checked in Rafflesia, he’s been warded for suspected meningitis, which is a bacterial infection of the spinal cord and brain. He may also have TB, and that could have caused the meningitis (assumption, need to be clarified further). When checked in SMC, the doctor found another blood clot. So there are 4. He is having a very severe headache.
The wife doesn’t know exactly what to do. She's been jobless since Sabah Bank merged to Alliance bank. Their eldest is in college now, 2nd in form 4 or 5, 3rd in primary school and the youngest about 4 years old. His wife Lily was told minimum needed is 20K to treat him, so Rayner’s journalist friends (Jaswinder and geng) are desperately trying to raise funds among media friends. As of today, 3 days in SMC, the bill is now RM8K. Imagine he could be there for 2 weeks. But there is only so much u can do kalau Ada yang mau bagi RM10 ja, or say now tengah bulan.
Rayner is a contract worker for Bernama, so his max allowance from insurance is RM20k and that is being arranged now. But even that is not guaranteed kunun cause meningitis is not covered. Keeping fingers crossed. So some of us are like broken record updating news in Facebook, email etc everyday. Hari ini Hari Rayner, esok mungkin Hari Kita kan?"
